Amrut Indian Whisky

Tasting Notes Review

Amrut Single Malt Indian Whisky 46% alc/vol

Colour: Golden Yellow

Nose : Distinctly confidant liquorice-bourbon notes with near perfect bitter-sweet balance; burnt honeycomb and toffee also about.

Taste : Outstanding richness and sheen to the enormous barley-oak sweetness; again, but there is a big bourbony cut to the cloth with all the liquorice and molasses sugar normally but the barley adds that extra dimension.

Finish : Long, wonderfully layered oak offering variations of a sweet-dry theme; a touch silky with some cream toffee at the death;

Amrut  Peated Single Malt Indian Whisky 62.8% alc/vol

Colour: Golden Yellow

Nose : Girsty smoked barley, kippers with a salted butter peppered bite.

Taste : The delivery is youthful and barley reaching puberty then suddenly an intensely malty ascendancy followed by a healthy dose of drier oaks.

Finish : A sublime finale for its sheer delicacy and elegance; the peat no more than oozes, there are cups galore of sugarless medium roast mysore and finally, as a bourbony trail is discovered, soft liquorice and molassed sugar - easily the highlight of the experience; one of the best finishes of year.....

Other Info : “ It is not chill filtered and comes straight from the barrel in its natural colour

Amrut  Cask strength Single Malt Indian Whisky 61.8% alc/vol

Colour: Golden Yellow

Nose : Classic house style with glorious bourbon notes fused with the richest of the barley statements; not entirely unlike caramelised biscuit in dunked coffee; oh, and a bit of a spicy attitude, too...

Taste : There we go with that unique bitter - sweet overture where the oaks and barley appear joined at the hip ; lovely soft oils and then a sharp jolt of blood orange citrus, which is removed by something more buttery and delicate.

Finish : Long, elegant with the most intricate of fades with the oaks showing various bourbon then buttery characteristics; there is a trace of dark sugar and cocoa to help it along its way.

Other Info : ”Certainly the best non-peated Indian single malt to hit the international market.61.9%”- Jim Murray Rated 92/100.

Amrut  Peated Single Malt Indian Whisky 46% alc/vol

Colour: Golden Yellow

Nose : Fresh Oak with hint of vanilla, Peat and Oak are mellowed and are pleasant on the nose. Hint of spiciness clutched with fruits.

Taste : Layers of peat and smoke with youthful and muscular oak constantly reminding their presence. Fresh fruit and spices with hint of maltiness.

Finish : Pleasurable experience with peat maintaining its supremacy with fine totlerance of malt. Oak, Fruit and Spice.

Amrut Fusion Single Malt Indian Whisky 50% alc/vol

Colour: Golden Yellow

Tasting Note :

Nose : Smells like just emptied barrel with sharp notes interwined with light vanilla, oak and hint of peat and fruit-oak taking the lead.

Taste : Predominant oak congeners fused with hint of smoky touch which unfold over palate although late.

Finish : Strong malt with excellent finish oak, fruit and peat with a hint of dryness.

Amrut presents the World's First Two Continents Single Malt Whisky

Amrut Two Continents starts its historic journey from the golden barley fields of India's North West Provinces, pastoral lands of magical beauty, irrigated by glacial melt waters from the Great Himalayas.

Following a journey of over 2,500 km to Bangalore, situated at over 3,000 feet above sea level in the heart of South India, the malt is lovingly crafted, distilled and matured. After the 'Angels of the Orient' have feasted on their sumptuous share from the barrels, they set out on their final journey, being shipped 9,000 km to a secret location in Europe.

The Single Malt of Liquid Gold then undergoes a further maturation in the cooler  climes of enchanting Europe, thus combining the exotic with the enthralling
