St Georges Distillery History
The English Whisky Co. is being established as one of the first and only registered whisky distilling company in England. Their objective is to produce excellent quality whisky that will be able to compete with some of the finest whiskies currently on the market. Aiming to use the very best local ingredients, giving a selection of unique and truly excellent whisky.
St.George’s Distillery became operational in December 2006, and while the visitor centre and office space are still under construction, they are hoping to be welcoming visitors from late spring early summer 2007.
The distillery sits on the banks of the river Thet just off the A11 between East Harling and Roudham
ST. GEORGE'S DISTILLERY
The distillery produced its first 'run' on 12th December 2006 and it was with much excitement and with an enormous sense of achievement that the first barrel of 'St. George's whisky' was filled. This will now, along with the rest of the run, be put away for at least 3 years to mature.
