Tastig notes :-

The nose is immediately rich and spicy; before warming to aromas of red berries and tropical fruit salad.
The creamy body reveals a mouth-filling palate which is rich, fruity and zesty; like a rich Christmas pudding!
The finish lingers and replicates the nose. (S)

 Ladyburn Malt Whisky Distillery
Water source Penwapple Reservoir

Built by W. Grant & Sons Built the Ladyburn Distillery within their Girvan Grain Distillery complex in 1966.at the cost of £1.250,000 a similar plant today would cost £60 + million at 2007 prices.

The distillery had 2 pairs of wash and spirit stills, plus the normal production equipment of mash tun, underbacks washbacks etc.

Nearly all the malt whisky spirit produced remained in house for use in Grant’s Standfast Blend. However some casks were obtained by some independent bottlers.

Ladyburn was closed and dismantled in 1975 to make way for expansion for grain whisky production. This was similar to other malt distilleries within grain complexes.
Such as:

Ben Wyvis (Malt) built within Invergordan. Glenflagler and Killyloch (Malt) built within Garheath and Kinclaith (Malt) built within Strathclyde, In these locations the malt plant was removed for grain expansion

During 2000 W. Grants having set aside a small quantity of casks, released 3,000 bottles of Ladyburn as single cask bottlings
