The House Of Grants
An introduction to the Grant’s range of blended Scotch whiskies
The Grant’s range of blended Scotch whiskies includes
Grant’s Family Reserve,
Grant’s Ale Cask Reserve,
Grant’s Sherry Cask Reserve
Grant’s Premium 12 and
Grant’s Rare Old 18 Cask Selection.
Grant’s Family Reserve Scotch Whisky
This fine Scotch whisky has a beautifully balanced aroma and deliciously complex tone; its full, rich flavour leads on to a long smooth lingering finish.
“For me, Grant’s Family Reserve is a stunner of a whisky, one of the most complex blends the Scotch whisky industry will ever produce. It has a magical balance between excellent Speyside and smoky malt and distinctive grain. The result is a blend that at once massages and pounds the taste buds.”
Jim Murray, Whisky author 1999
Grant’s Cask Selection Scotch Whisky
A first for Grant’s Scotch Whisky is the Grant’s Cask Selection range, an innovative new premium blended Scotch whisky range. A confident evolution to the Grant’s premium Scotch whisky portfolio, it combines aged premium Scotch whisky with distinctive wood finishes in iconic packaging.
Grant’s Premium 12 Year Old Scotch Whisky
Finished in specially selected first fill bourbon casks, creating an outstanding, full-bodied Scotch whisky experience of exceptional richness.
This is a sweet, rich Scotch whisky with a mix of vanilla, honey and spice and a long, soothing finish.
Grant’s Rare Old 18 Year Old Scotch Whisky
Finished in specially selected port casks, creating a magnificent, perfectly balanced Scotch whisky of intricate aromas and considerable depth. A full-bodied blend with a silky mouth-feel of fruitcake, malty honey and port flavours and it has a long, rich and elegant finish.
David Stewart, Grant’s Master Blender and the inspiration behind Grant’s Cask Selection commented: “ Grant’s Cask Selection has an exceptionally distinctive and rare character. The period of time spent in the finishing casks acts like a marrying period – a process now uncommon in the Scotch whisky industry.”
Grant’s Cask Reserves
These two new Scotch whiskies are not your ordinary blended Scotch. They are further matured in either an ale or sherry cask prior to bottling, absorbing some of the keynotes and flavours of these casks. They have a deliciously different character and unique distinctive tastes.
Each of these great tasting deliciously different Scotch whiskies has a very distinctive nose and flavour.
Grant’s Ale Cask Reserve Scotch Whisky
Represents a particularly significant development in Scotch whisky finishing – and one that could only have been made by a pioneering, independent company such as William Grant & Sons.
Combining ale notes - in this case Edinburgh Strong Ale from the Caledonian Brewery Company Limited - with Scotch whisky had been generally accepted as almost impossible until now. The two arts of brewing and distillation had previously been considered to be incompatible.
Warm and inviting in colour, with a clean, fresh nose, Grant’s Ale Cask Reserve has a deliciously different, creamy, malty honeyed taste, which becomes even more pronounced with the addition of a dash of water or soda.
Grant’s Sherry Cask Reserve Scotch Whisky
This whisky has the colour of deep ‘old gold’. Sweeter than Ale Cask it is finished in Spanish casks which previously held Oloroso sherry, is lively and nutty with a distinctively warm, rich, fruity taste.
