Macduff International Independent Scotch Whisky Makers

Macduff International was formed in 1992 by Stewart Macduff, Charles Murray and Ted Thomson, having between them over 75 years experience as senior executives within the Scotch whisky industry.

Stewart, Charles and Ted’s vision was to establish a company following the long standing tradition of Independent Scotch whisky blenders providing a quality Scotch whisky away from the corporate multi-national drinks companies

To this end Macduff International purchased three of the oldest blended whisky brands in existence plus a well established specialist blend.

Based in Glasgow, Scotland Macduff International can count on an expert team with experienced Scotch whisky professionals right through from the directors to production and shipping, offering customers an unparalleled level of support.

The consistently high quality of our blends and malts is maintained by Master blender Gilmor Bunet, formerly Master Blender For Johnnie Walker.

Today Macduff International have expanded their portfolio to include a varied range of blended scotch, Single Malt and Pure Malt, bottled in Scotland or in bulk, and currently export over 2 million bottles a year to over 50 countries,

However, Macduff International main focus continues to be producing premium quality blended Scotch whisky, and are confident are their illustrious predecessors, Robert MacNish and Archibald Lauder, would have approved.

Grand MacNish Blended Scotch Whisky

The Grand Macnish became the fine Scotch Whisky that it is today because of a belief held by Robert McNish back in 1863. Being a hard-headed Scot, he set about concocting a lighter whisky which would have a distinctive appearance. After much sampling, a recipe was found using over 40 single whiskies. The percentage of each used varied according to weight, flavour and aroma, the resultant whisky being much lighter than straight malt, although retaining the exquisite flavour of the finest Highland Whiskies

LAUDER’S Scotch Whisky has been in continuous production since 1836, making it one of the oldest Brands of Scotch Whisky still in distribution. The original blend was developed by Archibald Lauder soon after the distilling of Whisky was made legal in 1815.
